How to win $50,000 with “America’s Money Class with Suze Orman”

America's Money Class Suze Orman

You could win $50,000!!

Did Suze Orman get your attention yet? The Money Lady does not take money issues lightly and has no qualms about bribing you into taking your financial life more seriously, too. With her new original series, America’s Money Class with Suze Orman, premiering Monday, January 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on OWN, she does just that.

Every Monday night Suze provides essential tools and tips to help viewers get on their feet and take the necessary steps to get their money in control. She goes in depth with couples and individuals who are struggling with money issues ranging from financial infidelity to whether to claim bankruptcy and answers questions from the studio audience and via video conference. At the end of the six episode series viewers will have a chance to win up to $50,000 by logging on to Oprah.com and passing a final exam.

“People don’t pay attention to the most important thing in their lives. They’re not paying attention to their money,” laments Suze. “How could I get those on board that every time they think about money they get that queasy little feeling in their stomach or they start thinking, oh my God, I can’t deal with it, it’s just like my life?”

As she brainstormed ways of getting people to really concentrate on their money, Suze circled back to the all-powerful motivator – money.

“What could I do to involve those people into one of the greatest classrooms that has ever been presented on television? It was my idea to say, guess what, let’s take my money and let me give $50,000 for a first prize and $5,000 away for five different people. So that’s $75,000,” she explains.

Not only will cash prizes be awarded to the top students of Suze’s Money Class, guidebooks and other materials, like a will and trust kit, an insurance kit and a money newsletter, will be available for viewers to download for free on oprah.com.

“All of those are given to the consumer or the viewer at home just merely for watching because,” says Suze, “the goal of this show is to not only educate you about the money you have and the money you don’t have, but also to give you the tools to make your own new American dream to come back to be whatever reality that would be for you at this point in time.”

  1. Cathy, I totally agree! It started with “Young, Broke and Fabulous” for me. Since then, I’ve been hooked on Suze!

  2. I have been a full time massage therapist for 23 years and didn’t start thinking about savings or retirement until I watched Suze’s eye-opening jaw-dropping Money Class. I needed it, wanted it and crave more. For the first time I am debt free, have an emergency fund and started a ROTH IRA. Thanks Suze. I read your 9 steps book as well and recommend it to anyone who needs to have a hand hold or kick of reality. It was so humbling to begin the process of changing my day to day lifestyle to one of planning and taking care of myself as an old woman. I am single, no children and even during these hard times while my business has dropped 75%, I am feeling okay about making the changes I need now so that I can feel okay or better later. So if you are still reading this and need me to cheer you on I will, contact me, or just read the following words: Start Today being real for yourself and have the courage to be good to yourself.
