OK, it’s not football. But TV viewers can still get their fix of tackling, running, kicking and scrums with coverage of the HSBC Sevens Rugby World Series from Las Vegas this weekend on NBC, NBC Sports Network and Universal Sports. Las Vegas Hosts Only U.S. Stop on the USA Sevens Rugby Tour

NEW YORK – February 9, 2012 – NBC, NBC Sports Network and Universal Sports Network, provide multi-platform coverage of the 2011-12 HSBC Sevens Rugby World Series with ten hours of live coverage across two days from Las Vegas, Nev., the fifth stop of the World Series. Coverage includes full matches along with highlights from the two-day tournament.


NBC kicks off live coverage this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET with continuing coverage at 7 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network. Universal Sports Network coverage begins Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET, with NBC Sports Network taking over at 2:30 p.m. and concluding on NBC at 4:30 p.m. ET. In addition, UniversalSports.com will provide live streaming of the match for $9.99 or the full season’s offerings for $29.99.

Pool A will feature leader New Zealand as well as Samoa, Australia and Japan. Pool B consists of Fiji, Canada, Argentina and the United States. Pool C includes France, South Africa, Wales and Uruguay. Pool D will showcase Kenya, England, Scotland and Brazil. In addition to New Zealand in the top spot, Fiji, England, South Africa and France round out the top five, with the United States currently ranked 12th against the world’s top teams.
