Adele makes triumphant return to the stage at 2012 Grammy Awards

Adele at the 2012 Grammy Awards Adele returned to the stage for the first time since undergoing throat surgery in fall, singing her runaway hit “Rolling in the Deep” at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

The tremendously talented youngster commanded the stage without gimmicks or costumes, looking absolutely stunning in a custom black Giorgio Armani gown.

Last week, Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld came under fire for comments he made to Metro about Adele’s weight. He issued an immediate apology, stating that his words had been taken out of context.

Either way, the singer herself seemed unfazed. She responded briefly about the controversy to People magazine: “I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women and I’m very proud of that.”

An even better response was sweeping the Grammy Awards, looking fine and sounding great. Her latest album, 21, was nominated for six Grammys, and picked up awards for all of them – Pop Solo Performance, Song of the Year, Best Music Video Short Form, Pop Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Album of the Year.
