The top gymnasts from around the world will be competing this weekend. American competitors include 2011 World all-around champion Jordyn Wieber, 2011 World parallel bars champion Danell Levya, 2011 World floor exercise bronze medalist Alexandra Raisman and 2011 World team bronze medalist John Orozco, who finished fifth in the all-around at the 2011 World Championships. The international field includes 2011 European Youth Summer Olympics Festival all-around champion Larisa Iordache from Romania, as well as top gymnasts from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan and Ukraine.

“The last two Olympic all-around champions, Carly Patterson and Nastia Luikin started their Olympic year off with a win at the American Cup,” said Daggett. “Current world champion Jordyn Wieber is the favorite to follow in their footsteps, but she’ll face a young super talent Larisa Iordache from Romania and her American teammate Alexander Raisman in her quest for the prestigious American Cup title.”

Universal Sports Network will air the Nastia Liukin Cup, featuring 34 of the country’s best Level 10 gymnasts, live this Friday at 7:30 p.m. from Madison Square Garden.
