This morning, newsman Tom Brokaw was taken to a hospital after feeling light-headed on the set of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. According to a statement from NBC News president Steve Capus, Brokaw appears to be doing fine following the incident:
“On the set of Morning Joe this morning,” stated Capus, “Tom Brokaw felt light-headed. Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital. He is being evaluated, is in good spirits, and is expected to be released shortly.”
Brokaw himself explained the event further in a somewhat lighthearted tweet about 10am ET this morning: “All is well. Early AM I mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual. Made a better comeback than Giants…”
UPDATE 9/6/12: Brokaw has been discharged from the hospital, per another statement from Steve Capus: “After medical evaluation and a round of tests, Tom was pronounced in great health and has been discharged. We’re immensely grateful to the team at Carolinas Medical Center for their excellent care and professionalism.”
