The NBA regular season tips off Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 8pm ET on TNT as the Miami Heat’s title defense begins against the Boston Celtics, who lost to the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals back in June. TNT has coverage of the Heat’s championship ring presentation ceremony prior to the game. The second game of the doubleheader has the Dallas Mavericks at the L.A. Lakers, who added Steve Nash and Dwight Howard over the summer.

Then on Thursday, Nov. 1, the Nets make their regular-season debut in Brooklyn as they take on the New York Knicks at the brand new Barclays Center at 7pm ET on TNT. [Update: game postponed] The Nets have a new look — literally, with a new logo and uniforms — and Deron Williams and Joe Johnson hope for a return to the postseason. The second game of the TNT doubleheader is a rematch of the 2012 Western Conference Finals as the Oklahoma City Thunder visit the San Antonio Spurs.

ESPN‘s NBA schedule starts Friday, Nov. 2, at 8pm ET as Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis take their talents to South Beach to join LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in the hope of building a Heat dynasty. They’ll head to hostile territory  to take on Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Then it’s the battle of Los Angeles’ STAPLES Center tenants as Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and the Clippers “visit” Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash and the reloaded Lakers.
