The All Stars version of RuPaul’s Drag Race is rapidly coming to a close. After tonight’s episode, we’ll be down to the final two teams.
Why do the queens who’ve been in the final 2 ask the other queens who were in the final 2 ask what the experience is like? Is it really that different for one team to be in the bottom 2 than another team? Can we stop with this little bit of filler that starts each show? I can’t imagine there isn’t more compelling film in the Drag Race cameras.
This week’s SheMail hints that the dragtestants will be starting a girl group. But first, it’s time for #CheerReading. The library is open, bitches, and you’ve got to do it in a cheer form. In 20 minutes. Shannel thinks this mini-challenge is impossible. From the looks of everyone’s makeup, Shannel may be right. Chad & Jujubee are the only two that look remotely female. But the winners, again, are Team Yarlexis.
Yes, the teams have to form a girl group and each team gets a guest star. The only one I’ve heard of is Kelly Osbourne. The other two guest stars are the daughters of Pia Zadora and Vanessa Williams. I’d never seen them before either. I’m sure they’re lovely people.
We first get to see Chad & Shannel working on their choreography. Shannel is taking the lead, which Chad doesn’t seem all too happy about. Vanessa Williams’ daughter doesn’t say much.
Alexis and Yara tell Kelly Osbourne all about all the mean things everyone else says about them. Kelly’s like OMG! Those bitches! I’m totally going to work it out for you!
When Ru does his walk-around, we learn that Vanessa Williams’ daughter is a dancer. Kelly Osbourne is a fashionista. Pia Zadora’s daughter is less coordinated than the rest of Team Rujubee. She does not mention any other talents, which is unfortunate.
Rosie Perez and Mary Wilson are this week’s guest judges which make everyone excited, especially Kelly Osbourne.
Every team has their rehearsal breakdown. Team Yarlexis has Yara changing the choreography based on various things, like her arm hurts, so she can’t pick up Kelly. Team Rujubee’s guest star can’t rehearse with her shoes very long, but Jujubee ends up rolling her ankle. Team Shad knows fierce and Shannel wants to overthink it that way.
While getting ready for the runway show, Team Yarlexis bonds with Kelly over their accents. Kelly tells us that it takes her 20 minutes to order through a drive-through and Alexis Mateo confesses that she sometimes doesn’t understand Yara in either English or Spanish.
Shannel and Chad tell Vanessa Williams’ daughter about how they used to hate each other but came together when Shannel’s mother died. Jujubee and Raven don’t share anything nearly that deep, but they do lament that Pia Zadora’s daughter won’t let them paint her up. Seriously, she’s got the opportunity to get painted up by a drag queen and she’s having them tone it down. What a waste.
Team Shad becomes Savage Sisters. Apparently they have to sing as well. When I say sing, I mean be auto-tuned within an inch of their lives. Fanny Shosha is Team Yarlexis. V3 is Team Rujubee. I have no idea who came up with these names, but since Pandora Boxx told me that the teams didn’t even pick their names, I doubt they picked the girl group names.
All of the teams get pretty good feedback. Santino doesn’t like Raven’s nylons. Yarlexis’ choreography was sloppy. Rosie thinks Jujubee gives good mouth.
Team Rujubee is in the bottom again, along with Team Yarlexis. Team Shad wins a closet-full of corsets from some website that Ru repeats a couple of times. Raven is lip-synching versus Alexis Mateo. Their song? Don’t Cha by the Pussycat Dolls.
And for the first time, the shemergency button is pressed. Yara takes over the lip-synch, to which Raven says bring it bitch. Team Rujubee is safe. Team Yarlexis may have been strong in many of the mini-challenges, but they come up short on the mainstage. They are told to sashay away.
Be sure to watch next week’s RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race & find out which team is the final one standing – next Monday at 9pm ET.
What do you think? Was Team Yarlexis the right team to go home? Which team do you think will be the last one standing? Sound off on the comments below.
I totaly agree. If I get on RuPaul and get this one in a life time opportunity I’m going all for it! Even if they have to put make up on every inch on my body, because girl I know I’m going to look fierce when I walk out on that run-way!
I cant believe that lil beyatch daughter of Pia Zidora (haven’t heard that name in 30 years….) didn’t let Raven and JujuBee “drag her” all the way out…SHE DIDNT WANT CONTOUR??? SHE WANTED BANGS?? Please girl… had the opportunity of every girls dream…to be made up by a drag queen and you wanted them to TONE IT DOWN?…they almost lost because of you and you didnt even speak up when the judges ripped on them for “Playing it too safe”…you should have opened up your mouth and defended them…stupid no clue ellie….damn girl…you blew your big chance. Don’t know your name now, never heard of you before but you can best believe that you will be forever remembered as the girl who didn’t want to wear Drag makeup on Rue Pauls’ Drag Race All Stars
Susan –
I totally agree. I don’t know what she was thinking. At least from what they showed on Untucked, Raven was super-nice to her about it though. I’m wondering what kind of conversations they had behind the scenes.
Any time a drag queen, especially ones that make it to Drag Race, want to paint me within an inch of my life, I’m all for it!
