When is Christmas Vacation on TV 2012?

While it’s got some adult language and content, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation remains one of those annual must-see holiday classics. It’s served as a cautionary reminder that no Christmas is perfect, no matter how hard we might try to make it that way. (It also reminds us how NOT to do exterior illumination and how NOT to empty an RV’s toilet tank.) Catch an edited-for-TV version during ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas.

As the holidays approach, Clark Griswold wants to have a perfect family Christmas, so he pesters his wife, Ellen, and children, as he tries to make sure everything is in line, including the tree and house decorations. However, things go awry quickly. His hick cousin, Eddie, and his family show up unplanned and start living in their camper on the Griswold property. Even worse, Clark’s employers renege on the holiday bonus he needs. Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, Randy Quaid, Juliette Lewis, Johnny Galecki, Doris Roberts and Julia Louis-Dreyfus star.

I love the holiday season, and I always set aside time to see at least half of these movies between now and Christmas. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is my favorite movie, and I always crack up when I see the scene where Clark is stuck in attic, and has to improvise to stay warm. I already set a recording for this movie on my DISH Hopper so I can watch it later. With more than 1,200 hours of recording time, I can save all these holiday movies without deleting my regular programs, which is great because I have a lot of midseason finales to watch since I’ve been working nights at DISH. I’m going to spend this weekend catching up on holiday specials!
