Special episode of Science Channel’s “Through the Wormhole” looks at Higgs boson “The God Particle”

Updated March 20, 2013, 3:18pm CT

On the heels of the newest data released by physicists at the CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) Conference held in La Thuile, Italy, regarding the Higgs boson “The God Particle,” Science Channel will be premiering a special episode of Through the Wormhole, hosted by Morgan Freeman, called “Is There a God Particle?” March 20 at 9pm ET/PT, with an encore March 27 at 9pm ET/PT.

This recent data update of the Higgs boson again underscores the unpredictable nature of “The God Particle,” finding an inconsistency with the boson’s decomposition into photons. Evidence of the Higgs boson is not yet completely conclusive, but scientific opinion continues to strongly favor the existence of the God Particle as predicted by Peter Higgs and others in the widely-accepted Standard Model originally issued in 1964.

Through the Wormhole: Is There a God Particle? features leading Higgs researchers Joe Incandela and Lyn Evans. On March 20 in Geneva, Morgan Freeman will present Incandela, Evans and five colleagues the Fundamental Physics Prize for their work researching Higgs boson “The God Particle.”

Through the Wormhole: Is There a God Particle? premieres on Science Channel March 20 at 9pm ET/PT, with an encore presentation March 27 at 9pm ET/PT.
