Daytime Emmy Awards 2013
Sunday, June 16
HLN, 8pm Live

A.J. Hammer HLN Daytime Emmy

Times may be tough in soap operas, but that won’t stop the party at the Daytime Emmy Awards 2013, which also celebrates the best from talk, food, courtroom programs and game shows. Good Morning America weather anchor Sam Champion is hosting along with HLN’s A.J. Hammer (Showbiz Tonight) and Robin Meade (Morning Express With Robin Meade) from The Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.

Meade won’t just be introducing presenters, however. The accomplished country artist (Brand New Day) will also perform both best song nominees, “This Day” by Sheryl Crow (Katie), and “Good Afternoon” by Little Big Town (Good Afternoon America). Hammer is also performing double duty, as he will host this year’s live red carpet special Showbiz @ The Daytime Emmys (which will begin at 7:30pm) with HLN’s Christi Paul, where they will interview some of the evening’s biggest stars. Monday’s edition of Morning Express will be broadcast from The Beverly Hilton and act as a wrap-up for the event.

Presenters include the likes of Steve Harvey, Kathy Griffin, Rachael Ray, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Alex Trebek, Bethenny Frankel, Kris Jenner, Erika Slezak, Kristen Alderson, Nancy Lee Grahn, Lindsey Morgan, Freddie Smith, the ladies of The Talk including Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood, Jason Thompson, Chandler Massey and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood. Adding a little high culture to the proceedings is powerhouse Italian Opera trio IL Volo, who will perform their hit song “Mas Que Amor” during the “In Memoriam” tribute, which will be presented by Corbin Bernsen, Jess Walton, and Young and the Restless stars Max Ehrich, Bryton James and Hunter King.

In Lifetime Achievement Awards, Wayne Brady will present Game Show Icon winner Monty Hall, while the unparalleled Betty White will present Legendary Producer Bob Stewart.

  1. will you be playing the show of the awards on any channel at a later date as i missed it and would like to see it

    • Yes, I too missed the Daytime Emmys. Please let me know if and when it will be re-aired.

  2. I wish I could watch it but we can’t afford cable.
Even though I don’t always agree with who wins,
I’d still like to hear this show! I’d even listen
to it if they’d put it on radio or something.
    Frustrating!!!

    • Thank you Erin,i’m in Ky and didn’t know what channel it was on,but it’s the same as yours

  3. I thought they were on like NBC or ABC, I don’t even know what channel that HLN is, I would love to watch the tribute to Jennie Cooper

  4. I also agree with you. The Daytime Emmy’s since they have been in California are not like it used to be.
When they had it on the East Coast, I used to go and it was so much fun to see all the stars in person.
I think Channel 7 it should be on since the shows I like are all mostly on Channel 7. A universal channel that everyone can get.

  6. TICKED that the emmys are always on a channel most of us cant get
why cant they put it on a normal channel like ABC or something

    • I totally agree with you there Simone. I think they should air it on whatever network carries the shows with the most nominations. That way it would be more accessible to everyone.
