The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to the legendary 2.5-mile oval at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, July 28, at 1pm ET on ESPN. Top drivers Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne and others race for a win on the famed track. Johnson puckered up to kiss the Yard of Bricks on the track’s start/finish line last year for his fourth win at Indy.
ESPN/ABC begins its coverage of the final 17 races of the 2013 Cup Series schedule Sunday at Indianapolis. The NASCAR Countdown prerace show at 12pm ET previews the race with features and interviews.
It’s somewhat of a bittersweet start to the Cup Series season for ESPN, as NASCAR officially announced that the final 20 races of the season will be televised by the NBC Sports Group from 2015-24, leaving ESPN without TV rights to live NASCAR races.
