ABC Family will begin airing episodes of its mothership ABC’s hit family comedy The Middle starting Sept. 17. The show will air on ABC Family weekdays at 5pm ET/PT. To kick off The Middle‘s arrival on ABC Family, a marathon of the sitcom will air on ABC Family Sept. 16 from 11am-7pm ET/PT.
The Middle revolves around frazzled mother Frankie Heck (Patricia Heaton), her calming husband Mike (Neil Flynn) and their three crazy kids: oldest son Axl (Charlie McDermott), an underachiever; socially awkward middle daughter Sue (Eden Sher); and quirky youngest son Brick (Atticus Shaffer). The sitcom is told from Frankie’s point of view, as she comments on her life in small-town middle America.
The Middle quietly continues to be popular among the similar sort of mid-America families as the one portrayed in the show, and it will return with new episodes in its fifth season on ABC starting Sept. 25 at 8pm ET. In the Season 5 premiere, against Axl’s wishes, Frankie insists on having the entire Heck family along for the ride as they drive to his college to move him into his dorm. But the short drive turns into an eternity when Sue freaks out after discovering that Frankie forgot to fax in her essay to be a candidate for Junior Peer Leadership Advisor, and Brick proves once again that he can’t be trusted when he keeps losing his new cell phone.
The Middle airs on ABC Family weekdays at 5pm ET/PT starting Sept. 17.
Season 5 of The Middle premieres Sept. 25 at 8pm ET on ABC.
