“General Hospital” February sweeps storylines

ABC announced some of the storylines that will be airing on its daytime drama General Hospital in February 2014. GH has been doing well in the ratings lately, and it most recently featured Chandra Wilson (Grey’s Anatomy) in a bit of stunt casting, but these February sweeps storylines look geared to pump up that viewership in an even stronger way. In February, the long-running soap opera — which celebrated 50 years on the air last year — will also be airing its 13,000th episode.

General Hospital February Sweeps Storylines (descriptions from ABC):

Feb. 5: Guest star Shirley Jones plays a widow and concerned resident of Port Charles on this episode. When stumbling upon a suspicious gravedigger during a visit to her husband’s gravesite, she immediately takes her suspicions to the PCPD.

Feb. 13, 14 and 17: It’s Valentine’s Day in Port Charles as Duke attempts to reconcile with Anna, and Morgan and Ava and Sonny and Olivia plan romantic evenings. While love is in the air, heartache and breakup are as well, with Liz anxiously awaiting baby Ben’s paternity test and Michael and Kiki squaring off in a bruising argument.

Feb. 24: General Hospital celebrates a milestone with its recently taped 13,000th episode, which unveils new twists and turns in the relationship of teenagers Molly and T.J. Meanwhile, Michael and Kiki discuss taking their relationship in a new direction. An unstable A.J. tries to remember what really happened the night of Connie’s murder, and Patrick and Robin make a heart-wrenching and emotional decision that will affect their lives forever.

And, according to ABC: “February also builds to the discovery of information leading to the whereabouts of the murderous Heather and a kidnapped Carly, and the real reason behind Victor Cassadine’s return to Port Charles. After reuniting, Robin and Patrick face new problems when Sabrina, who Patrick left at the altar, tries to hide some life-altering news. Meanwhile, Sam wants to believe that Silas had nothing to do with his wife’s comatose state, but Nathan’s damaging evidence makes that difficult.”

General Hospital airs weekdays at 2pm ET/1pm PT on ABC.
