And so it comes down to this – the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6. So who won the crown & the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar? We’ve sat through this whole season, now we’ve gotta sit through 90 minutes of rehashing to find out. Let’s hope it’s entertaining & get started!
First off, my apologies if this recap is a bit rambling. I, and I assume any other recappers, got no advance screening of this the grand finale. So I’m writing this when I would normally just be watching with one eye on the clock to go to bed.
If you want to cut to the chase & find out who won, just scroll down to the end. Writing this in real time! Or just watch it yourself:

We begin by re-introducing all of the eliminated queens and your top 3. Then Ru glitter bombed the audience. And we did the obligatory stupid selfie. I’m over the selfies. Anyone else? Blah, here it is:
If U can’t love your #selfie, how in da hell U gonna love somebody elsie pic.twitter.com/3u1VKIoft9

First we hear from the eliminated queens, in order of elimination beginning with Kelly Mantle and Magnolia Crawford. Neither one of them says anything interesting. Kelly wonders if everyone’s vegan and that’s why they didn’t like her bacon shirt. Magnolia claims she didn’t watch the season, when if you’ve seen YouTube clips of her you know that Liza Minnelli lies.
Next up is Vivacious and April Carrion. We get to see April’s outfits she had been planning on wearing for each week’s challenge. I love that idea – you get to see what she would have pulled out & some of it is super fierce. Vivacious teaches everyone how to do the New York old school club kid walk. She’s followed by our not-Scruff pit crew dancing boys, each with his own Ornacia.
By the way, Overstock couldn’t pony up for the entire season, but they are sponsoring this reunion show’s Untucked lounge. Way to get on the bandwagon late, Overstock.
Now we get to “reconnect” with Gia Gunn and Milk. Gia tried to tell us that she’s really nice. Milk now makes money with his milkiness instead of his boy job. That’s about it.
Moving onto Laganja Estranja and Trinity K Bonet. Laganja is now medicated and Trinity is proud of her bravery. That’s nice but a bit boring. Michelle is not amused. Thank you, whoever created this on Tumblr. How do people do this stuff so quickly?
Then Ru gives us a mini drag herstory lesson that devolves into a sing along of the final song from the Rusical. It’s cute but I wish Ru would do a drag history lesson, even if it’s a series of web videos. I would watch that. Wouldn’t you watch that?
Wrapping up the eliminated, we check in with Joslyn Fox, BenDeLaCreme and Darienne Lake. I’m a little disappointed Joslyn isn’t wearing the necklace she wore all season. BenDeLa is riding waves of positivity. With that, BenDeLa brought Darienne a set of Russian nesting dolls. Darienne brought an apology for DeLa. And Ru brings Darienne a message from his parents. They’re on board. I have a feeling they let Darienne know that was coming because she seems pretty composed.
We get a mini-song from the top 3. Bianca doesn’t really sing all that much, but she gets to swear the most, which is fun. Ru then decides to ask some fan questions – the first one was about the relationship between Adore and Langanja. The show actually got Laganja and Adore together to watch the Untucked together before it aired. Essentially they rehash the entire argument again. They cry; they yell at each other. Apparently they went for a drink & hashed things out in private & now it’s all fine! Yeah, right.
Then Latrice m-fing Royal asks a Facebook question of Adore – does she have a crush on Bianca Del Rio out of drag. She claims no because she would’ve copped a feel if she did. Bianca claims she would never sleep with Adore because she only gives to charity once a year. Alaska asks Gia about the wonky eyelash. Jiggly asks a question from a ‘fan’ asking to get read. So Bianca reads Jiggly. Andre, Joslyn’s fiance asks if Joslyn would marry him on stage. Of course! With the Scruff pit crew in attendance. I wonder if they actually did get married. Anyone know?
Before we find out who wins the whole enchilada, we find out who wins Miss Congeniality. Of course, that got leaked awhile ago. If you managed to avoid it, now you can know – it’s BenDeLaCreme! I don’t know, I love Ben & thought she was sweet, but I though Joslyn Fox was a bit nicer overall. But she got to get married in this reunion special, so that’s what she wins. It was fun to see Ivy Winters on her stilts again.
So then we spend the final half hour getting a retrospective of each of the top 3 queens. We don’t learn much from Adore. We get to hear Bianca’s impression of Lady Bunny and it’s pretty awesome. And we get to meet Lola, who’s adorable! From Courtney, we learn that she can wear a thirsty wig. Girl, what is up with that choice of hair tonight? We also learn that she’s all BFFs with Chaz Bono now. They’re not getting married, although Chaz does mention needing the money if Courtney wins. I know it’s a joke, but ew.
And finally we learn who won RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6. This year’s winner is Bianca Del Rio! I assume World of Wonder and Logo will be releasing the reaction video tomorrow morning, so I’ll be sure to add it to this recap if you’re interested.
And we get a final word from Judge Judy herself! She loves Bianca, but Ru is her favorite.
That brings us to the end of Season 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. It’s been fun recapping it for y’all. Did Ru make the right decision? Let’s talk about it!

Yes they really are married.
If you want to see the dragtestants’ ACTUAL reactions to the win, I’ve added that video as well. Enjoy!
Did Rupaul make the right decision. . .Absolutely! Love all the girls, but Bianca is my sister from another mister. . .congrats to every contestant – they don’t call you Queen for no reason
