Drake hosts the 2014 ESPYS tonight on ESPN

Multifaceted performer Drake hosts the 2014 ESPYS, the annual celebration that brings athletes and celebrities together to honor the year’s best in sports. ESPN televises the awards show from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 16, beginning at 9pm ET.

Michael Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted by an NFL team, receives the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.

Stuart Scott will be honored with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award.

U.S. Paralympic gold medal sled hockey player and Purple Heart recipient Josh Sweeney is the first to be honored with the new Pat Tillman Award for Service.

ESPYS coverage begins with The 2014 ESPYS Countdown Show live from the red carpet beginning at 7pm ET on ESPN. Hannah Storm hosts with updates from Michelle Beadle, Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose. Cari Champion conducts celebrity and athlete interviews.
