The Memory Book Opens on Hallmark Movie Channel July 26

The Memory BookWhen you comb through a bin of swap meet finds, have you ever wondered about the items’ past owners? Love-wary photographer Chloe (Meghan Ory) stumbles upon an old photo album chronicling the perfect love of a young couple from the 1970s. “Life has taught her that you can’t trust love and you’re really better off just trusting yourself. She loves her friends and her art and that’s enough for her,” says Ory. But suddenly, Chloe’s art is no longer enough; inspired by and skeptical of the images of the couple in the album, she vows to find them and learn their story.

“Chloe doesn’t believe a love that looks so genuine and happy could possibly exist. Deep, deep down it is what she wants and she doesn’t want to get her hopes up,” Ory explains. Only by confirming the legitimacy of the mystery couple’s love can Chloe find the strength to find love in her own life.

With the help of Gabe (Luke Macfarlane), a charming bartender whose up-for-anything attitude is a sharp contrast to cautious Chloe’s, she unravels the identities of the mystery couple known only as Sarah and Jonathan. “His gregariousness draws Chloe out,” says Macfarlane, and as Chloe and Gabe search San Francisco for traces of the couple, they encounter people and locations from the decades-old romance. Chloe and Gabe’s relationship starts to mirror Sarah and Jonathan’s, much to the reluctance of skittish Chloe. The closer that Chloe comes to finding the secret to true love, the more she learns that photographs don’t always tell the whole story. And once she finds the mystery couple, she must try to repair their damaged love.

Memory-Book-CanoeMacfarlane said his favorite part of shooting the film was getting stretch his muscles. The actor, best known for his role on ABC’s drama Brothers and Sisters, revealed that it wasn’t his acting muscles, but rather his arm muscles that were challenged. “I’m very much an outdoorsy person,” says the handsome Canadian, “When I read this script, I don’t think I’ve ever read a script — let alone done a movie — where I get to canoe, so I was very excited to canoe while shooting this film.”

The Memory BookMacfarlane had kind things to say about his costar, Meghan Ory, who also plays Ruby/Red Riding Hood on ABC’s fantasy drama, Once Upon a Time. “It’s funny. I did the ADR for The Memory Book — where you go in and fix the audio and you watch the scene, — and I watched the first scene and turned to our director and said, ‘You had to put me on camera with this girl? She is sooo beautiful, she just draws all attention to her!’ She looks so stunning on tape, on video, on screen. It’s amazing.”  This is high praise from one of the most unbelievably handsome and charming men on the planet.

Ory’s character Chloe knows that any image can be cropped, framed and manipulated according to the desires of a photographer when she looks through her camera. And in The Memory Book, as she changes her focus from the items that hold memories to the people with whom we create them, her photography, like her life, comes into perfect focus.

Adrienne Barbeau (Maude, General Hospital) and Art Hindle (Paradise Falls) also star.

  1. I need to know the name of the song that was playing towards the end of movie when Chole was sitting on the floor looking at the memory book.
I would like to buy the song
    Thanks

    • We think you are referring to the song “10,000 Stones” by Adrianne. You should be able to check it out on iTunes and see if that’s the one you heard.

    • please provide the song from the movie when Chloe was looking at the book.(may have played twice in the movie) (title and writer please)

  2. Why have you advertised The Memory Book to air July 26 and it is not on the schedule. The sane thing happened with The Color Of Rain. When will these movies ever be shown??

    • I hope that the memory book will be shown again because like you it was advertised and not shown. I really want to see it too

    • It’s not the regular hallmark channel. It’s the hallmark movie channel. If you have direct tv it’s channel 565. Come on at 11 and multiple times in the next few days
