“The Price Is Right” launches first nationwide male model search

Long-running game show The Price Is Right recently began its first-ever nationwide search for a male model on Aug. 16, in Spartanburg, S.C. CBS has announced upcoming open casting calls will also be held in Boston on Sept. 6; Dallas on Sept. 7; Philadelphia on Sept. 8; and Los Angeles on Sept. 30. According to a release, semi-finalists will be flown to L.A., where they will be interviewed and judged by a panel of experts on their sense of humor, red carpet skills and how to model a car.

These finalists will be included in a six-episode web series competition on priceisright.com. At the conclusion of the web series, the final three contestants will be revealed on the CBS daytime show The Talk. Then, fans can vote online for their favorite male model. The grand prize winner will be announced on The Price Is Right on Dec. 8, and will begin his weeklong modeling gig on Dec. 15.

In addition to the local auditions, men ages 18 and older can enter online by submitting a video demonstrating their modeling skills starting Sept. 6. Official rules can be found on cbs.com and priceisright.com, plus on each local station’s website.
