Oprah Winfrey and Elie Wiesel in Auschwitz, Poland

In the episode, which originally aired in 2006, Oprah and and Nobel laureate, New York Times bestselling author and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel travel to Auschwitz, Poland to speak about the relevance of the Holocaust today.

In A Special Presentation: Oprah and Elie Wiesel At Auschwitz Death Camp, close to 61 years after he left the concentration camp, Wiesel returned to Auschwitz to see what remains, what it means to a returning survivor and how he and other activists keep the memory of the Holocaust alive so the world never forgets.  At the age of 15, Wiesel and his entire family were sent to Auschwitz during the Holocaust, which took the lives of more than six million Jews.
