Get a Sneak Peek of Nickelodeon’s “Harvey Beaks”

Tonight, After the Kids’ Choice Awards, Nickelodeon is offering a sneak peek of its newest animated series, Harvey Beaks. The first look should air at 9:30-ish ET/PT, right about the time Nick is mopping up the slime from the KCAs.

Harvey Beaks

The series about the adventures of a sweet bird and his mischievous friends comes from the mind of creator and executive producer C.H. Greenblatt (Chowder). In the series, which normally airs on Sundays, Harvey has never gotten into trouble, and his best friends twins Fee and Foo have never caused anything but trouble. Chaos and hilarity ensues.

I’ve been charmed by the show’s press kit for a few weeks so for some Friday night fun, I sat down with my mini-reviewers — sons Connor and Grant (who would like you to know that they are almost 8 and 5 & 1/2) — to check it out. In the Episode, “Pe-Choo!” Harvey a “nice, sweet, well-behaved boy,” discovers that in order to have the coolest fun at the lake, he needs to get in massive trouble.

My boys spent most of the episode laughing at the chaos caused by Fee and Foo, and liked sweet Harvey’s attempts to fight his sweet nature and become bad. They especially enjoyed Fee and Foo’s lessons in being annoying; and since the lessons didn’t include waking an exhausted Mommy at 5:30am, I’ll let them slide. The series animation is bright and cute and you can definitely see Greentblatt’s love of bright colors and creative nose stylings.

“I like it because Harvey’s trying to be like his friends,” says Connor. “But he’s only good a being himself.”
Grant liked them Pe-chooing. (You’ll learn what this is in the episode)

Both couldn’t wait to watch the second episode included in the screener, “Tale of Les Squirrels.” In this episode — which isn’t the episode that will premiere on Sunday, but will air in the future — the trio finds a lost tail. Both episodes had enough boy-approved potty and gross humor to keep my kids completely entertained.

Sunday’s series premiere airs at 7:15pm ET/PM, after an original episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. This premiere episode airs the episode “The Spitting Tree” where the gang has a blast spitting from the highest tree in Littlebark — until they realize they can’t get back down. The series premiere also re-airs the sneak peek, “Pe-Choo!”
