Cristian de la Fuente joins Season 3 of Lifetime's spicy hit drama Devious Maids.

Lifetime’s spicy hit series Devious Maids from executive producers Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria returns June 1 in a new Monday night time slot.

This season’s regular cast will be joined by a handful of familiar faces including Naya Rivera (Glee), John O’Hurley (General Hospital), Nathan Owens (Days of Our Lives) and Chilean hunk Cristián de la Fuente, a veteran of Spanish-language telenovelas such as Valiant Love.

De la Fuente says he’s thrilled with his juicy role, but he couldn’t confirm rumors that he plays Ernesto, Rosie’s mysterious first husband. “I don’t want them to kill me — literally — because, you know, a lot of people die in Devious Maids and I don’t want to be the next one,” de la Fuente laughs. “What I know for sure is that this season has a lot of twists. I watched both previous seasons and this one is just to the next level. This is the evolution of everybody!”

Since he couldn’t reveal any show secrets, we asked de la Fuente to reveal his answers to our “7 Questions.”

Cristian de la Fuente joins Season 3 of Lifetime’s spicy hit drama Devious Maids.
  1. If your TV carried just three shows or networks, what would they be?
24, Breaking Bad and The Blacklist.
  2. What are three things you have to have in your fridge or pantry?
    Water, chicken and milk.
  3. What has been your strangest fan encounter?
I went to Peru this week to shoot a movie and I met a guy who’s been a fan for eight years or something like that. He would write to me on Twitter almost every day — probably 220,000 tweets. I got to Peru and he was there at the airport. I’ve seen his face on Twitter, so to finally meet him was crazy because it seems like I already knew him.
  4. Tell us about a time when you were starstruck.
I got invited to a table read for an Adam Sandler movie and I met Al Pacino. I almost died! He’s my hero. I didn’t know what to say for 10 minutes. Right now I’m talking to you and staring at a poster that I have — the original poster of Scarface.
  5. If you weren’t an actor or in the entertainment business, what would you like to do?
I’d be an actor. I’m very stubborn. There’s no Plan B. Plan B is make sure Plan A works
  6. Will your character — or any of the others — be incorporating more Spanish on the show this season?
Yes! This season they’re bringing in a lot more Spanish. There’s a lot of characters that they always have [speaking] Spanish, especially Roselyn’s and Dania’s, and my character’s going to do that, too. One out of seven people living in America is Latino, so I think that’s a reality that has to be portrayed on television.
  7. What’s been the best part of joining Devious Maids?
The complexity of my character — all the layers that he has. He has secrets. He has stories behind the stories and that’s great. He’s a complex personality and that’s way more interesting than just to play the straight guy!
