Critic’s Choice: Our Top 10 Best Fall TV Shows 2015

Scream Queens

The entire staff gathered together and argued out the merits of this season’s new broadcast series to compile our top 10 best fall TV shows of 2015 (we held off on midseason, as our list would have been far too long).

The Grinder (FOX)

The Grinder never settles! Rob Lowe and Fred Savage have great chemistry as brothers with polar-opposite personalities. Savage plays a small-time Boise lawyer, while Lowe plays a high-octane, big-time attorney … on TV.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (The CW)

Who wouldn’t give up life in NYC for hip West Covina, Calif.?!? Series creator and star Rachel Bloom’s fantastically irreverent point of view (and awesome production numbers!) has created the perfect fantasy laden lead-in for CW’s hit Jane the Virgin.

Dr. Ken (ABC)

If you loved Ken Jeong as Mr. Chow, Señor Chang or any of his countless guest roles, Jeong proves he can carry his own series as a tough love doctor and family man in ABC’s new sitcom.

Limitless (CBS)

Bradley Cooper recurs in the role he played in 2011’s Limitless feature film, but he isn’t the main attraction here. Jake McDorman is engrossing as Brian Finch, who discovers the brain-boosting power of a mysterious drug called NZT. Based on the first episode, we’re already addicted to the rush this series delivers.

Blindspot (NBC)

Jaimie Alexander’s willingness to strip herself physically and emotionally bare to shattering effect gives us high hopes for this Greg Berlanti-produced thriller about a woman found covered in tattoos but stripped of her memory who appears to be a walking, talking message to the FBI.

Scream Queens (FOX)

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are TV’s dynamic duo, scoring big with FOX’s high-school musical dramedy Glee and the what-the-what! trippy shockfest that is the American Horror Story anthology on FX. Now they’re blending both genres in this campy, collegiate murder mystery that heralds the return of Jamie Lee Curtis to television and to the horror genre that made her famous.

Angel From Hell (CBS)

Jane Lynch is funny as hell playing a heavenly being (or a human lunatic?) with a PG-13 personality.

Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris (NBC)

This one’s making the list sight unseen. We love Neil Patrick Harris so he makes our list by default, but after talking to him and hearing what he has planned, it sounds like a rocking good time.

Grandfathered (FOX)

We’d take Uncle Jesse from Full House as our grandpa any day! John Stamos goes from smarm to charm when he learns he’s a dad and a granddad all at once.

Supergirl (CBS)

This terrific addition to the DC Comics television universe comes from coproducer Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Arrow). It’s fun for everyone, but it especially presents a female hero that women and girls can look up to without worrying about her being sexualized onscreen.

  1. Yo doña feasted….. I think you need to get a life sweetheart, try saving some tress or hugging bunnies. These guys are harmless. How about trying to save some whales sista….

  2. It seems that BLINDSPOT,according to their preview,is making a Really Stupid Error. It’s suggested that the Woman is an ex SEAL. Their are No Women in the SEALS!

  3. Please, please do NOT consider “Impractical Jokers” for any awards. If possible, please kick the “show” off the air. This past year many young men have toppled gravestones (many from the 1800’s). They have “pulled” hideous “pranks”, and the last “joker” wrote threatening letters & emails saying he was going “to blow-up an elementary school and kill as many Toddlers as he could”. He told the judge it was “a joke”. (NOT FUNNY). He is out of jail on bond. (I am afraid for the children). I blame the “Impractical Jokers” for the rise in bullying and hideous pranks on innocent people (usually the elderly because we were taught not to make a scene). Young people are causing thousands of dollars damage to our loved ones graves and heartache to our memories. I was in a traumatic accident. (My forearm was degloved in one long sheet of skin (5″x 4″x 1″) and muscles.) I am so tired of people walking up to me, pointing and saying rude remarks about my scar (4″ by 3″ by 1″ deep) on my injured right forearm and laughing so loud because I am crying. If my injury had happened in WAR would they still do it? Maybe that is the way people in New York “treat strangers”… but it has “spilled-out” into rural America. People say they want to STOP BULLYING.. WELL stop the tv show: “IMPRACTICAL JOKERS”.. In order to have some insight on this tv “show” to write letters (of protest) I just watched one of the “impractical jokers” run an electric wheelchair (cart) into a lady’s baby stroller. The mother told him “to stop” and he kept doing it and laughing. They stole an elderly persons’ electric wheelchair, they steal food out of elderly customers shopping carts. STOP THOSE IDIOT “IMPRACTICAL JOKERS” from teaching YOUNG ADULTS to be bullies. This program is the first time, I am 100 % sure that tv “influences” the minds of people.. “why people do what they do.” For years people have said that tv influenced gun violence. I now believe that statement.. because the tv show “Impractical Jokers” influences Bullying. The “show” is not entertainment.. but “a guide” to teach bullies how to hurt strangers on the street. Surely, you all have relatives, friends and neighbors, who can be “hurt and bullied” by young people pulling these “pranks” on them. Right? SAVE PEOPLE FROM BEING “VICTIMS OF BULLIES”.. “PULL THE PLUG” ON “IMPRACTICAL JOKERS”. THANK YOU

  4. Other than ‘Limitless’? This is just a bunch if rehashing and recycling and if this is the best people can look forward too? Are there no fresh ideas left in Hollywood Land? I’m seeing visions of a show called ‘suits’ with doubled up lawyers, we were full of Full House, don’t need anymore of any of them, and for the most part, we have the mystery category as full as I e ever seen it, and the writing turns to mush after the fourth episode! Gimmicks gone horrorbly wrong! Ugh… Thank god for cable… Premium that is.
