STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 22, 2015 – The 2015 Formula One Drivers’ Championship can be decided on American soil for the first time in more than 30 years on network television this weekend, as NBC Sports presents live coverage of the United States Grand Prix from Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. Sunday’s coverage begins with F1 Countdown at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
NBC, NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra will combine to air live coverage of all three practices, qualifying and Sunday’s grand prix, beginning with live coverage of Practice 1 this Friday at 11 a.m. ET on NBCSN. NBC Sports Group’s F1 broadcast team of announcer Leigh Diffey, veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett, and F1 insider Will Buxton will call the action on-site from COTA.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is on the verge of his third career and second consecutive F1 title, and will need to outscore Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel by nine points and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg by two points to clinch the title. NBC Sports Group will highlight numerous F1 storylines involving American drivers and teams this weekend at COTA. Coverage will include:
- An exclusive interview with Leigh Diffey and Lewis Hamilton, who has won twice at COTA
- A profile on Alexander Rossi (Marussia), the first American-born F1 driver since Scott Speed in 2007. Rossi talks about appearing in his first F1 grand prix this year and racing in his home country’s grand prix;

Who are these jackasses at NBCSN that keep trashing Formula 1 coverage? The Sochi race was never shown at all, just nascar jaloppies going around in circles. The Texas race was shown late because, apparently of more jaloppy racing and then cut off before it was finished.

For those of us in the US, WHERE can we view live F1 qualifying today? I have seen that TSN3 will carry coverage but Dish Network doesn’t seem to carry TSN at all – will BBC America have live coverage or will live online streaming be available? Please respond ASAP so I can update my TV timed schedule. Thanks so much.
