Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer's LlamasA new adventure featuring everyone’s favorite claymation sheep premieres today on Amazon Prime. Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas, is a new half-hour special starring Shaun, star of the Shaun the Sheep TV series and this summer’s eponymous movie, Shaun the Sheep Movie.

In Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas, the Farmer and Bitzer the dog go to a Country Fair and Shaun accompanies them intent on causing mischief. Shaun spies an auction of three exotic and very crafty Llamas and cleverly gets the unwitting Farmer to buy them. At first everything’s great fun, but soon their new Llama roommates get a bit too comfortable in their new home. When things spiral out of control, Shaun is forced to take action to oust the intruders and save Mossy Bottom Farm.

Shaun doesn’t talk, but the ruminant beast still says a lot. The special has the same wit as other Aardman Animations projects, which include the Wallace & Gromit series and Chicken Run, and I’ll be watching this special with my kids tonight and I know they’ll adore it. It’s a just right mix of uproarious physical and kid-friendly potty humor, and a dry wit and cinematic references that will keep us grownups chuckling. I’ve been charmed by Aardman Animations‘ work since I saw The Wrong Trousers — their 1993, Oscar-winning short — and this Shaun the Sheep special is another in their long line of fresh, funny and engaging projects that are perfect for families.
