Getting “Lost”: The Incident Preview

By Mike and johnnysweeptheleg

It’s almost here. If you’re like us, you can’t wait for the Season 5 finale of Lost to begin but you’re also dreading what happens when it ends, which is roughly eight straight months with no new episodes. In other words, this had better be a damn good last two hours (three, if you count the hourlong Lost: A Journey in Time recap that precedes the finale — which we don’t).

Here’s what ABC is saying about “The Incident”: Jack’s decision to put a plan in action in order to set things right on the island is met with some strong resistance by those close to him, and Locke assigns Ben a difficult task.

Keeping in mind that a new character of major importance will supposedly be introduced this week, guest stars for “The Incident” include [Read more →]

Ryan Murphy Fills FOX With “Glee”

By Jeff Pfeiffer

Ryan Murphy, creator of Nip/Tuck and Popular, is back with a new series, and it looks to be another winner. But with Glee – making a sneak preview debut May 19 after the final performance show of this season’s American Idol, then returning to air regularly in the fall — don’t look for the same of what made those first two shows hits.

“I’ve done sort of eight years of darkness and really adult stuff [with Nip/Tuck],” Murphy recently told reporters on a conference call, “and I was like, ‘Okay, I want to try something different. I want to do a show that has a bigger heart and is kinder. But make no mistake — it still has an edge.”

Getting “Lost”: Some Like It Hoth Preview

By Mike Frey and johnnysweeptheleg

It’s a week later and we’re still not over Ben’s emo bangs, but it’s time for a new episode so we move on. This one’s called “Some Like It Hoth,” which could be a reference to this, this, this guy or even this. Or maybe Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are just Led Zeppelin fans. We don’t know much about what to expect, other than that it should be revealed how and/or why Miles hears dead people. Perhaps it’s just best if we defer to those in the know.

Here’s what ABC says about “Some Like It Hoth”: “Suspicions about a possible breach intensify after Ben is taken from the infirmary, and a reluctant Miles is forced to work with Hurley when he’s asked to deliver an important package to a top Dharma official.” Guest stars include: Francois Chau as Dr. Pierre Chang, Marsha Thomason as Naomi Dorrit, Doug Hutchison as Horace Goodspeed, Patrick Fischler as Phil, Jon Gries as Roger Linus, Eric Lange as Radzinsky, Leslie Ishii as Lara, Brad William Henke as Bram, Dean Norris as Howard Gray, Tim DeZarn as Trevor, Lance Ho as young Miles and Linda Rose Herman as Evelyn.

Getting “Lost”: Dead Is Dead Preview

By Mike Frey

Johnnysweeptheleg has left the building. Where is he? Probably the same place Rose and Bernard have gone. Like the island’s favorite married couple, johnny will likely pop up again sometime — probably in the comments section — but, until then, I’ll be doing these Lost posts like Eric Carmen. That’s right … all by myself. So bear with me.

With that said, let’s talk about this week’s episode. Here’s what ABC has to say about “Dead Is Dead”: To atone for sins of the past, Ben must attempt to summon the smoke monster in order to be judged. Guest stars include Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert, Tania Raymonde as Alex, Sonya Walger as Penelope “Penny” Widmore, Alan Dale as Charles Widmore, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Sterling Beaumon as young Ben, Zuleikha Robinson as Ilana, Said Taghmaoui as Caesar, Melissa Farman as young Danielle Rousseau, Brad William Henke as Bram and Matt Hoffman as Jed.

David Goodman Talks About The Upcoming “Star Trek: The Next Generation” Cast Reunion On “Family Guy”

by Sarah

Yesterday, showrunner and executive producer David Goodman held a conference call to talk about next week’s episode of Family Guy, called “Not All Dogs Go to Heaven,” which features a reunion of the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

One of the big thrills for Goodman is that he actually gets to be in the episode as a convention-goer who not only gets a scene with Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes, but who also gets into an age-old Trekkie argument about the questionable canon fidelity of the episode “Relics.”

Getting “Lost”: He’s Our You Preview

Posted by Mike Frey and johnnysweeptheleg

Two things strike us when looking at the information ABC has provided regarding this week’s episode, “He’s Our You.” First, when did Lost become Little Archie? We’ve already seen young Charlotte and young Ben, now we get young Sayid? [And glancing ahead at press releases for future episodes, there's more where that came from.] Second, how did it take so long for the writers to find a role for William Sanderson, one of the great character actors of our generation? Is it too much to hope that his character, Oldham, will have a brother Darryl and another brother Darryl? Probably, but we did notice while searching the name “Oldham” on lostpedia.com that Charlie once told Naomi his band, Drive Shaft, “got its start at the Night and Day bar on Oldham Street.” Coincidence? Maybe. But, then, when are things on Lost ever the result of coincidence?

Here are the plot and guest star details straight from ABC’s press release:

Getting “Lost”: Namaste Preview

By Mike Frey and johnnysweeptheleg

Hey, remember Lost? It’s been two weeks since we’ve seen a new episode, so we are totally ready for “Namaste.” If you’re like us, you’re probably wondering what that title means. Here’s a link to the Wikipedia page for the word. (Go ahead and check it out. We’ll wait.) If you are truly like us, you still won’t really understand what it means after having read that. We’ll just have to watch the episode to be enlightened.

Here’s what the ABC press release says we’ll see: “When some old friends drop in unannounced, Sawyer is forced to further perpetuate his lie in order to protect them.”

Guest stars this episode include: John Terry as Christian Shephard, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Francois Chau as Dr. Marvin Candle, Said Taghmaoui as Caesar, Zuleikha Robinson as Ilana, Reiko Aylesworth as Amy, Sterling Beaumon as young Ben (!!!), Patrick Fischler as Phil, Molly McGivern as Rosie, Eric Lange as Radzinsky, Dan Gauthier as co-pilot and Sven Lindstrom as photographer.

Now that that’s out of the way, here are some sneak peeks from the episode, followed, as always, by our running list of questions:

Preview: “Ghost Hunters” Scares Up A New Season

By RabbitEars

America’s favorite ghost-hunting plumbers are back to flush out more phantoms in Season 5 of SCI FI Channel’s hit series Ghost Hunters, beginning this Wednesday (March 11) at 9pm ET/PT. Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, who head up The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) team, explain that this season will see a return to a lot of residential cases in addition to continued explorations of the higher-profile historical sites. This plan is evidenced right away in the premiere episode, a two-investigation show in which the team travels to Pennsylvania to visit a terrified family just outside of Philadelphia, and then into Philly itself to check out the historic home of Betsy Ross. (Note: this preview is from an advance screener provided by the network; at airtime the investigation order was changed.)

Getting Lost: “Jughead” Preview

Posted by Mike and johnnysweeptheleg

Last season, we took the episode title “The Other Woman” as a license to make Ray Parker Jr. references at every opportunity. Now the Lost writers have tempted us again, naming the third episode of Season 5 “Jughead.” As much as we love the idea of someone running around the island in a gray crown beanie (someone who shares a surname with Jughead, perhaps?), we’ll try to leave the Archies out of our recap this week. With that said, here are a few clips from tonight’s episode, followed by our running list of questions.
